Application Form
The application form can be downloaded from the school website deepshikha.ac.in. Alternatively, the form can be collected from the School Office.
Registration:
Registration of new students for admission to the Suryakant Jog Deepshikha Gurukul Sainik School, Amravati starts in the month of April every year. Selection of students is generally carried out in May. Class Six is the preferred entry point. However, admission may be granted in higher classes, subject to availability of vacancies. New admission for 10th and 12th standards is not granted.
Admission is based on a preliminary physical test and an aptitude analysis. Priority is given to those whose brothers have studied or at present are studying in the school. Preference is also given to the wards of parents with Armed Forces or Police background.
Parents or guardians should undertake online registration (REGISTER HERE) of the child clearly mentioning the class and academic year to which the admission is sought. Online registration is free. However, online registration does not guarantee admission.
On admission parent / guardian will have to sign an undertaking to ensure that the ward will appear for National Defense Academy examination after 12th standard and will not leave the school up to 12th standard as per instructions by the Government of Maharashtra. (Insert hyperlink)
Selection Process:
Call for Selection: The complete selection process will be held at the School premises at Chikhaldara. After online registration, parents will be intimated the date and time for reporting for selection.
Offline Registration: Students who have not completed online registration will fill in the hard copy of application form and report to the School after ascertaining the timings for selection from School Office. They will be required to report to the School by 09.00 AM on the appointed day and submit the form prior to the commencement of selection process.
Selection process will consist of a physical and aptitude assessment test followed by an interview.
However, due to Covid 19 pandemic conditions, all admissions in Academic Year 2020 – 21 will be held on the basis of online interview of the students in the presence of their parents on Google Meet platform.
- Physical Test: All applicants will undergo a preliminary physical test.
- Aptitude Assessment Test: Students will be required to undertake a written test of 100 marks in three parts consisting of Mathematics, IQ and Language based on curriculum of previous examination standard. A sample question paper is enclosed. (Insert hyperlink)
- Interview: The applicants will be interviewed by a selection panel in the presence of his parents / guardian.
Documents Required at the Time of Selection Test:
- Application Form: This form in prescribed format as given on the School website (Insert hyperlink) will be submitted in hard copy duly signed by the student and his parents / guardian. Even the students who have registered online will submit a hard copy of application duly signed.
- Original Birth Certificate: The original birth certificate must be brought to the School at the time of admission. This is returned after verification. Misrepresentation or falsification of date of birth will result in cancellation of admission forthwith.
- Marksheet of Previous Examination: All students will submit a photocopy of the marksheet of their previous examination.
In case of 11th standard, students will submit marksheet of 9th standard. The admission for 11th standard will be considered provisional till submission of 10th standard marksheet.Medical Certificate: Medical certificate as given in the School website (Insert hyperlink) will be submitted duly signed by a qualified registered medical practitioner.
- School Transfer Certificate: A valid Transfer Certificate from the School last attended, issued by the Principal immediately prior to the student joining Deepshikha Gurukul Sainik School will be submitted.
- Indemnity Bond: At the time of admission, parents / guardian will be required to sign an indemnity bond (Insert hyperlink) on Rs 100/- stamp paper. Draft of the bond is enclosed.
- Photographs: Three recent passport size photos will be submitted by each student.
- Aadhar Card: A copy of Aadhar card or its registration receipt will be deposited by the student.
- Caste Certificate: Caste certificate where applicable will be submitted.
Students before joining the School should get themselves protected against typhoid, cholera and bring a medical certificate accordingly.
Results of Selection:
Results of selection will be communicated to the students the same day by evening before dispersal.
Deposit: In the past it has been noticed that few of the selected students do not eventually take admission in the School thereby denying an opportunity to another deserving student and also wasting a vacancy.
To avoid such an eventuality, selected students will be required to make a non-refundable deposit of Rs 2,000/- immediately on declaration of results on the day of selection. This deposit will be adjusted later in the school fees of the student. Admission of the student will not be considered confirmed till payment of registration fees. A student who does not take admission after being selected will forfeit his deposit.

The School fully reserves the right of Admission and its decision in the matter is final and binding and cannot be questioned.
The School reserves the right to change its Admissions’ procedure from time to time without notice.
School Fees:
An amount of Rs 10,000/- will be deposited by the student at the time of admission as a refundable security deposit to cover the breakages or losses. This amount will be refunded within six months of student leaving the School.
School fees may be paid by the student in two instalments. First instalment will be paid at the time of admission or before 01 July and the second instalment prior to commencement of second semester. A fine of Rs 500/- per month will be levied for delay in payment of fees. In addition, the expenses for supply of any additional items such uniforms, sweaters, jerseys, notebooks etc will have to be paid on demand. Fees should be paid at this bank through Chalan / DD / Phonepay or Net banking. Cash payment will not be accepted. The fees may be hiked by up to 10% every year.


Pocket Money:
An amount not exceeding Rs 500/- per month will be admitted as pocket money and can be sent to the Principal by the 10th of every month. The students will be given an advance by the Principal for Sunday expenses out of this amount and his account will be separately maintained which will be shown to him regularly. Parents are advised not to send extra money or eats to the students.
Withdrawal from the School:
Withdrawal of the student can only be considered on written application from the parent / guardian.
The student may be withdrawn by the parents during or after the academic session.
The students withdrawing any time during the academic year will forfeit the full instalment for the semester during which he leaves the school and in addition he will be liable to pay an amount of Rs 1500/-. Transfer certificate will not be issued until all payments are made.
The student leaving at the end of academic session will have to pay all instalments due for the year, if not paid. In addition, he will be liable to pay Rs 1500/- towards miscellaneous charges.
The student who has failed in the final examination will have to be withdrawn from the School by the parents. In this event, the student will have to pay all the instalments and other charges, if not paid. He will not be required to pay any additional amount. Transfer certificate will not be issued until all the payments are made.
These payments as listed above will not be adjusted against security deposit.
