In the late eighties, students from Vidarbha region lamented lack of quality residential schools that could provide them military training and encourage them to take up armed forces as a career. Founder Director Late Mr. Suryakant S Jog, IPS

25 July 1929 – 17 June 2016
Shri Suryakant Jog formed Navjeevan Society to develop a new culture of military training, of adventure and competitive examination in this region and thus Deepshikha Gurukul Sainik School was formed.

Director Dr. KM Kulkarni,

Ex Vice Chancellor, Ramanand Tirth Marathwada Vidyapeeth.
Ex Director, Higher Education, Govt of Maharashtra.
Dr Kulkarni took over the reins of the Society in 2015 and has been providing direction to the School ever since. 

Commandant Brig Sangram Dalvi, SM (Retired)

Brig Dalvi is a 1987 batch infantry officer. He completed his initial schooling and college from Mumbai. After completing his graduation in Mathematics, he joined Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai. On retirement from Indian Army, he has joined the School to train young leaders.

Principal
Shri Rajendra Charjan

Shri Rajendra Charjan is one of the pioneer members of the School. A science postgraduate, he joined Deepshikha in 1993 and has since ensured scientific aptitude amongst the students. He has been heading the School since October 2018.

 

Military Training

Emphasis of all military training activities is to imbibe leadership qualities amongst the students. This training tests the physical and mental endurance of the students and prepares them for challenges in the life after School. It gives them confidence in their physical and mental abilities and develops a ‘Never Give In’ attitude so essential for a winner in all walks of life. Each day begins with Physical Training.  Squad Drill is practiced once a week. These two organized activities under experienced instructors develop loco motor functions, enhance physical growth, improve turnout and bearing and inculcate a sense of discipline and obedience.
